Before this web site was developed, TonkaFocus published an e-newsletter and sent it via e-mail to subscribers.  Subscriptions were free, private and available to anyone who asked.  The subscriber list grew mainly by word of mouth, reaching about 450 people by July 2005. Once the web site was established, daily hits reached a high of almost 8,000 in the week before the November 2005 school board election.

Then, as now, TonkaFocus concentrates on the public record in the school district.

Most of the material in these e-newsletters is published elsewhere on the site, in the summaries of School Board Meetings or on pages covering specific issues.  But you can see here exactly what subscribers saw by clicking on the dates below.
